Sathyam Mathrame Bodhippikkoo fame director Sagar’s next is a feel-good emotional drama, shot in Kollam.
The film, titled Kanakarajyam, which is scripted by the director himself, finds its inspiration in a real-life incident that happened in Alappuzha. Murali Gopi and
Indrans play the lead roles in the film.
Sagar tells us, “There was a jewelry theft that happened in Alappuzha, around 2005-06.
The movie’s story is strung together with a few other incidents, along with this news. Indrans chettan plays the character of a security guard, whom I know from my younger days. Murali Gopy, on the other hand, is cast as a rustic Malayali who faces all the issues that a person from such a background encounters. The movie explores the relationship between two people, their complexes, pride and the like and is a story that anyone can relate to.”
Leona, Athira Patel, Sreejith Ravi, Jolly Chirayath, Unni Raj, Dinesh Prabhakar and Ramesh Kottayam are also part of the film. Arun Muralidharan is the composer.
